Electrical Power Distribution

Electric power distribution is electricity power being carried from the transmission system to the consumers. This final stage of delivery of electric power distributes power through substations that connect to the transmission system and lower the transmission voltage to medium voltage ranging between 2 kV and 35 kV with the use of transformers.

Primary distribution lines carry this medium voltage power to distribution transformers located near the consumer premises. Distribution transformers again lower the voltage to the utilization voltage used by lighting, industrial equipment or household appliances. All of this equipment used in this process needs protection from surges.

We provide a range of Medium Voltage silicone housed Surge Arresters (ASMSVL Series) and a unique complementary range (PDTISA18) which functions as an arrester and support Insulator also our SVL series provides protection from over-voltages on cable sheaths by the cross-bonding of the sheaths and the ground continuity conductor. These ranges of 10kA Class 1 distribution arresters are fully tested and approved to EN 60099-4 and IEC 61109.

LVA415-5 - Low Voltage Arrester - 415V rms

Designed for use on AC or DC supply lines as an effective means of providing protection against lightning and switching induced overvoltages.

PDLV Series - Low Voltage Surge Arresters - 280V to 660V rms

The PDLV Series is a range of low voltage surge arresters are intended for protection of low voltage systems against overvoltages caused by lightning strikes and switching operations.

PSMV60 - Medium Voltage - 1 kVrms (Ur) to 14 kVrms (Ur)

PD Devices design and manufacture this PSMV60 range of metal oxide varistors (MOV) devices and therefore the ratings can usually be designed to suit any given application.

PSVL Series - Sheath Voltage Limiters - Medium Voltage - 3kV to 12kV rms

The PSVL is fully tested and approved to meet the requirements of CIGRE recommendations and IEC 60099-4
