Overvoltage Protection for Power Generation Equipment

Electricity power generation is a process of generating electric power from sources of primary energy; by electromechanical generators, primarily driven by heat engines fuelled by combustion or nuclear fission, or by other means such as the kinetic energy of flowing water and wind, solar photovoltaics and geothermal power. The plant and machinery used to create this power is susceptible to damage caused by nearby lightning strikes and transient over-voltages caused by other sources and should therefore be protected. 

Our bespoke AZA series of MOV assemblies offers customised options for the overvoltage/surge protection of DC exciters and similar or allied systems. 

A wide range of Continuous Operating Voltages and system energies can be accommodated in robust and compact assemblies and can be supplied as discrete units or configured on mounting plates for direct installation.

AZA-XP-S-V -  A customisable range of transient surge protection devices for industrial equipment applications. A wide range or voltage ratings available, typically 800V to 3000V. AZA-524-2-1000 - Rod mounted MOV assembly composed of 2 x MOV metal oxide varistor discs in parallel with support insulators each side. Suits a vairiety of applications including protection of DC power supplies of generator exciters or on-board inverters for rail rolling stock .
