Every-day switching events caused by nearby motors, generators, or electronic switching equipment will over time result in wear to equipment that may cause it operate less efficiently. Continued wear or a catastrophic event such as a lightning strike, may result in the failure of signalling, data communications or power distribution systems, and therefore costly delays and unplanned repairs.

CRTM150/650 Compact Rail Trackside Module, 75kA Single Phase 650V MOV Module. BMA Series A range of Bracket Mounted Surge Arresters capable of handling surge currents in excess of 200kA. The device, although designed primarily for applications within the locomotive industry, but is not limited to this field. Provides high current capability and low residual voltage to protect against the effects of lightning strikes and other line disturbances.
